BLACKSHEAR — Rachel M. Clark Dodd, 94, of Blackshear died Monday morning November 7, 2022, at Waycross Health and Rehab after an extended illness.
Mrs. Dodd was born in Cedarville, N.J., to the late Edward Clark and Mary McCrine Clark, and made Waycross her home for most of her life. She worked as a women’s wear associates before her retirement from K-Mart, and then preceded to work for Walmart for several years. She enjoyed working and was known as a workaholic. Outside of work, she loved gardening and couponing. In her earlier years, Mrs. Dodd attended University Boulevard Church of God.
In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Dodd; two children, Douglas Walsh, Mary Chancey; and a sister, Mary Jauss.
Mrs. Dodd is survived by three daughters, Joyce Wescoat, husband Jeff, of Cape Hatteras, N.C., Monica Green of Millville, N.J., and Dianna Midgett, husband Shep Steedley, of Blackshear; a son, Mark Clark, wife Brenda, of Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Clark, wife Paula, of Bridgton, N.J., and Charles Clark of New Jersey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery. The family received friends in the hour before the service at the funeral home.
