WAYCROSS — Susan Gary Baker, 47, of Waycross died early Sunday morning, November 5, 2022, at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born in Riverdale, Ga., to Tom Gary and Judith Hall Gary. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School, and had made Waycross and Hinesville her home for the majority of her life. She was of the Baptist faith.
Susan loved to work in the yard and was an immaculate house keeper. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Gary, and her maternal grandparents, Millard M. Hall and Emalene Matthews Hall.
Susan is survived by her son, Ian Ruffner and his wife, Nicole, of Fort Payne, Ala.; one granddaughter, Kyler Faye Owen Ruffner of Fort Payne; her mother, Judith Hall Gary of Waycross; two brothers, Wesley Gary of Waycross and John Gary of Waycross; one niece, Ashlyn Gary; one nephew, Jacob Gary; one great nephew Killian Gary; and numerous other relatives.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
