CLEWISTON, Fla. — Irene Taylor Sutton age 91, of Clewiston, Fla., passed away in Orchid Cove at LaBelle on November 20, 2022, after an extended illness.
Irene was born on September 19, 1931, in Alma, Ga., to the late Jessie H. and Gertrude Taylor. Irene married William H. Sutton; he preceded her in death. Irene was care giver of children for many years, she was a member of Evangel Assembly of God in Clewiston, Fla. Irene will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Irene leaves fond memories with her sons, Timothy B. Davis of Clewiston, Mitchell A. Westberry (Judy) of Purvis, Miss.; daughters, Cathy L. Reid (Eddie) of Clewiston, Brenda S. Humphrey (John) of Odum, Ga., and Charlene Bugaiski (Jan) of San Diego, Calif.; stepdaughters, Peggy Godsey Moore of Spring City, Tenn., and Kay Miller of Spring City; sisters-in-law, Janelle Taylor of Fayetteville, Ga., and Kay Taylor of Baxley, grandchildren, Marcus Walker of Clewiston, Desarae Davis of Clewiston, Benji Lott of Alma, Dusty Andrews of Alma, Tamara Hutcheson of Odum, Tim Hutcheson of Odum, Tommy Hutcheson of Odum, Heath Westberry of Purvis and Greg Westberry of Purvis; along with 15 great grandchildren; one great grandchild; as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Irene also was preceded in death by daughter, Rhonda Westberry Dixon of Clewiston; brothers, James A. Taylor of Georgia, Jessie H. Taylor, Jr of Georgia, John E. Taylor “Buddy” of Georgia, Wayne Taylor of Georgia; stepbrothers, Robert Crews of Georgia, L. G. Crews, of Georgia, and Jimmie Crews of Georgia; sisters, Dora Mae Turner of Illinois, Peggy Joyce Hayes of Illinois, Linda S. Pritchett of Alma, Helen Doby of Alma; and sister-in law, Ruth Taylor of Fitzgerald, Ga.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 26, from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with the Rev. T.F. Yawn officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were by Akin-Davis Funeral Home in Clewiston and Crosby Funeral Home in Alma.
