WAYCROSS — Ms. Phyllis Elizabeth Burse, 70, died Friday evening, October 28, 2022, at Hospice House Satilla.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. Phyllis graduated from Waycross High School in 1969, and was a member of Greater Mt. Zion AME Church. She retired from the Swisher International finishing department.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Gaines, Sr. and Mattie L. Bannamon Gaines.
Survivors include one sister, Judy McNeil of Fairburn, Ga.; one brother, Herbert Gaines, Jr. of Waycross; three nieces, Riah McNeil, Raynelle McNeil and Ashley Fey; two aunts, Doris Dunton and Gwendolyn Allen both of Augusta; one uncle, Matthew Bannamon (Doris) of Atlanta; devoted friend, Claude Robinson; godsons, Trenneth and George Holmes; and a host of devoted cousins and friends.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 4 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. family received friends Thursday evening at the funeral home.
