Patients at Memorial Satilla Health are cared for our patients like family. Harvey and Joyce James of Blackshear recently experienced just that kind of care at our Inpatient Rehabilitation Center.
The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary while Harvey was a patient at the rehab center. The staff made sure the couple celebrated this special occasion in style with a steak dinner, champagne, flowers and cake.
“Memorial Satilla Rehab is dedicated to the care of our patients,” stated Eddie Vergara, director of rehabilitation. “We have the privilege of taking care of our patients and working with them to meet their goals. When we found out the James’ 60th wedding anniversary would fall on a day while still at the rehab hospital, we wanted to help them celebrate this extraordinary accomplishment by making it as special as we could,”
Lance James, the couple’s son, says his parents thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
“The staff went above and beyond to make this happen,” he said. “We kept it a surprise from them and they loved it.”
