WAYCROSS — Mr. Ronald B. Jones, 77, died Friday, November 4, 2022, at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla. after an extended illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross, and graduated from Waycross High School in 1964. Ronald served in the United States Army, and he retired from CSX Railroad as a lineman. His passions included fishing, bowling, watching TV and coin collecting.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Culver Jones and Alice Elizabeth Dixon Jones; his step-father, Wilber J. Rushing; seven brothers; one sister and his caregiver and friend, Pat Allmon.
Survivors include his son, Ronnie C. Jones; grandson, James Layton Jones; brother, Johnny L. Jones; and three nephews, Johnny L. Jones, Jr., Justin Cliford Jones (Melanie) and Joseph McKinley Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 11 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 10 at the funeral home.
