Myra Janet Johns Pearce

FOLKSTON — Myra Janet Johns Pearce, 85, of Folkston passed away Tuesday evening, November 22, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.

Born in Folkston, her parents were Johnny James “J.J.” Johns and Sara Ann Crews Johns. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Nelson Pearce; three brothers, J.E. Johns, Arnold Johns and Infant Johns; and seven sisters, Pauline Johns, Kathleen Kahlich, Christine Cowart, Hazel Brannen, Betty Ruth Baker, Inez Pike, and Mary Jean Austin.

Myra was a secretary and a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and her church family, fishing, gardening, and loved life on the farm.

Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Manda Lee Johns, Willie Maude Johns both of Folkston, and LaRue Richards of Youngsville, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Kahlich of Savannah; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26 at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Visitation was 30 minutes prior to the service.

Burial followed in Riverside Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
