JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mrs. Madge McDonald Dean, 96, died Monday, November 14, 2022 at Douglas Center Community Hospice in Jacksonville.
She was born in Waycross to the late Oscar Edward McDonald, Sr. and Ethel Ratliff McDonald. She was a retired telephone operator from Bell South, and was a member of Pine Valley Congregational Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Dean, and a son, Ronald Claude “Ronnie” Dean.
She is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Ellen Dean Waddell (Steve) of Bryceville, Fla., and Brenda Madge Dean Fleming of Hamburg, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Steven Waddell (Leslie), Jeff Waddell (Stephanie), Christopher LaDon Fleming, Ander Clinton Fleming (Candace), Ronald Chadwick Dean, Bradley Scott Dean, Alex Matthew Dean (Kayle), and Alan Marshall Dean; 11 great grandchildren; 10 great- great grandchildren; a brother, Stanley McDonald (Elouise); a sister-in-law, Betty McDonald; and numerous nieces, nephews.
The family received friends beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, November 18 at Music Funeral Home. The funeral service followed at 2 p.m. in the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
