WARESBORO — Mr. Michael Jordan Davis, 68, of Waresboro died Thursday morning, November 17, 2022 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born in Blackshear to the late Fred Stafford Davis, Sr., and Lizzie Mae Crews Howard. Born in Blackshear and raised in Waycross, Mr. Davis lived in Homerville for the majority of his life before moving back to Waycross to care for his mother.
He worked as a Road Grade Machine Operator for the Clinch County Road Department until his retirement in 2004. Mr. Davis attended Lighthouse Assembly of God in Homerville, and loved all types of music. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed any time he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he also was preceded in death by two brothers, Freddie Davis and Ronnie Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Henrietta Davis of Waresboro; two children, April Finn and her husband, Andy, of Waycross, and Beth Delk of Homerville; a nephew he raised as a son, Michael Holmes of Homerville; four grandchildren, Hayden Herrin, Colton Herrin, Henry Delk and Desirae Delk; five great grandchildren, Raelynn Hayes, Lakelynn Herrin, Davis Gardner, Makayla Holmes and Dani Holmes; two brothers, Buddy Davis and his wife, Julie, of Homerville, and Kenny Davis and his wife, Charlene, of Blackshear; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 21 at Lighthouse Assembly of God in Homerville. Burial followed in Arabia Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 20 at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
