BONAIRE, Ga. — Mr. Noah (Gene) Williams, age 80, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry, Ga., following a brief illness.
The Brantley County native was a 1960 graduate of Hoboken High School. Noah served in the U.S. Army and Reserves, and worked and retired from CSX Railroad. He served on the Board of Directors for the Atlantic Coastline Credit Union in Waycross. Noah was the Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 321.
Noah loved his wife Pat of 60 years. They were married on June 8, 1962, and the two made their home in the Waycross and Hoboken area until 2012, when they moved to Bonaire. He loved his family and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Waycross.
He loved people, gardening, golf and camping, and combined these passions for the opportunity to visit and socialize with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Archie Williams, his mother, Orie Gooding Williams, and five brothers, Calvin Williams, Leaston Williams, Jeff Williams, Bruce Williams, Roy Williams, and three sisters, Elouise Luke, Louise Howell, and Leona Cole.
Surviving are his wife, Pat Forsyth Williams; sons Ted Williams (Angie) and Chad Williams (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Ross Williams and Rachel Whitlock (Alex); as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Williams Chapel Baptist Church. The family will begin receiving friends at 1 p.m.
