A 22-year-old Waycross man was arrested Saturday morning in connection with the shooting of another man on Anguilla Street.
Waycross Police Department officers responded to a call September 3 of gunshots being fired in the area around 8:30 a.m.
Officers arrived to find a 37-year-old male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim’s name was not released.
Boyd was arrested a short time later and charged two counts of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of or Attempt to Commit Certain Crime. He was transported and booked into the Ware County Jail at 10:42 a.m.
Police have learned the two men were having a verbal argument over property which eventually escalated to a firearm being drawn and fired.
The investigation of the incident is still on ongoing.
