James Leon "Hotrod" Johnson, 70, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, October 16, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Clearwater, FL December 15, 1951, he had lived in Florida for several years before moving to Pierce County in 1976. He was a truck driver and was retired from HMH Trucking in Hazlehurst. He loved hunting, driving 18 wheel trucks and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a son of the late James Oroy and Ophelia Vann Johnson. He was also preceded in death by both of his brothers, David Eli Johnson and Ray Johnson.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Patty Johnson, Blackshear; his sister and brother-in-law, Sheena and William Sims, Blackshear; eight grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
His family will have a celebration of life service to honor him at a later date.
