WAYCROSS — Mrs. “Angel” Marie Howell Tanner, 44, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a brief illness.
She was born in Ware County to Charles Fredrick Howell and Betty Ann Smith Howell, and was a 1996 graduate of Ware County Magnet School. She was a bookkeeper for various companies through the years, but was currently employed with the Pierce County Board of Education.
In her spare time, she was a Magical Vacation Planner who helped others plan their vacation to Disney World. She was often referred to an expert in planning those trips. She also was a member of Zenith Baptist Church in Manor.
In addition to her father, she also was preceded in death by her daughter, Courteney Blanche Mixon.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Tanner, of Blackshear; a son, Bryce Charles Mixon (Lena Carter) of Blackshear; two grandchildren, Brylinn Mixon and Mayleigh Mixon; her mother, Betty Ann Smith Howell of Waycross; two sisters, Sheila Music of Blackshear and April Aldridge (Roy) of Waycross; her best friends, Heather Alcon (Bert) of Blackshear and Vickie Rowell (Johnny) of Manor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday September 21, 2022) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Zenith Baptist Church Cemetery in Manor. The family received from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
