Info still sought in August murder of Duncan

The investigation continues into the August murder of Dale Austin Duncan.

“We are still working the case and we are running down leads,” said Sheriff Ramsey Bennett. “We still need the public’s help. Anyone who saw anything or heard anything is asked to call us.”

Tips may be called in to the Pierce County Sheriff’s tip line at (912) 807-TIPS (8477) or by calling 911.

There have been no arrests and no new developments in the case.

Duncan’s body was discovered August 10 on timber company property on Zirkle Road in eastern Pierce County.

An autopsy was conducted by the Georgia State Crime Lab in Pooler. The sheriff said the State Medical Examiner’s Office has determined Duncan’s death was by homicide.

Sheriff Bennett has, so far, declined to answer questions about how Duncan ended up at Zirkle and declined to comment on questions about how Duncan died citing the ongoing investigation.

Duncan had been reported missing from his home in Ware County, shortly before his body was found.
