Commissioners will begin taking applications for their next county manager right away.
An advertisement for the position is included in today’s edition of The Times.
County chairman Neal Bennett said applications will be accepted and commissioners will likely discuss the job opening and determine the hiring process at their next regular monthly meeting, scheduled for November 1 at the Southeast Georgia Regional Agriculture Center in Blackshear.
The position will be open after Nov. 1 following the resignation last week of currently County Manager Jason Rubenbauer. (See related story.)
Rubenbauer is leaving to become the president and chief executive officer of the Waycross-Ware County Development Authority.
