DOTHAN, Ala. — Mrs. Evelyn Virginia “Ginner” Dubberly, age 87, formerly of Dothan, Ala., passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022.
Mrs. Dubberly was born March 2, 1935, in Pierce County to the late Claude Milton Wade and Theressa Moore Wade. She lived in Alma, Waycross and Moultrie before moving to Dothan in 1971.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Dubberly also was preceded in death by her husband, James Leroy Dubberly; grandson, Matthew Wade Dubberly; and two brothers, James A. “Bud” Wade and Danny Claude Wade.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Dubberly (Karen Walker) of Alma, Wayne Dubberly (June Corbin) of Geneva, Ala., and Scott Dubberly (Shelia) of Dothan, Ala.; two brothers, Kenny Wade and Dorsey Wade (Glenise) of Alma; one sister, Jan O’Steen (Marcus) of Alma; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Sunday, October 2 from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home in Alma with the Rev. Parnell Aldridge officiating.
Interment followed in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Stephen Dubberly, Bradley Dubberly, Keith Wade, Ken Wade, Milton Wade, Charles, Shepard, Clay Wade, Jimmy Wade and Jeff Wade. All others in attendance were considered honorary escorts.
Crosby Funeral Home in Alma was in charge of arrangements.
