Belinda McHale ‘Suzy’ Steedley

Belinda McHale Steedley, better known as Suzy, 59, of Waycross, passed away Tuesday night, October 11, 2022, at her residence.

Born May 19, 1963, in Jacksonville, FL, she was a daughter of the late Henry Joseph McHale and Roberta Donner. After living most of her life in Jacksonville, she moved to Waycross to be closer to her family. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved hugs from her granddaughter. She had an amazing green thumb. She could revive any plant or flower you gave her and was often asked to do just that. She loved to listen to classic rock music, take care of her fish and aquarium, assemble puzzles, and really loved classic muscle cars. For those that really knew Suzy and her story, her daughter, Decia, would like you to find comfort and peace in the fact that Suzy gave her life to the Lord several years back and is now healed of the sickness that consumed most of her life this side of Heaven.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Froat, and father-in-law, Marvin Reed.

Survivors include her two daughters, Brandy Adams, Woodbine and Decia Carter (Chris), Bristol; a grandchild, Emma Carter; sister, Linda Lowman, Bristol; brother, J.R. McHale (Loyce), Bristol; father of her children, Gerald R. Howell, Starke, FL; stepmother, Susie McHale, California; mother-in-law, Marion Reed, Blackshear; her two best friends, Melody Mitchell and Drema Gardner, both of Jacksonville; her bonus daughter, LaDonna Crump, Mershon and several other relatives.

A memorial service will take be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.

Sympathy may be expressed by signing online at www.hartfh.com.

Hart Funeral Home of Blackshear is in charge of arrangements.
