WAYCROSS — Mrs. Wyolene Taylor Bivins, 90, died Saturday night, October 8, 2022 at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late Joseph Buford Taylor and Rosetta Nancy Hart Taylor. Wyolene graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, and eventually moved to Waycross with her husband and the railroad. She was a licensed real estate agent who sold real estate in Putnam Hall. She was a member of First Baptist Church Waycross where she sang in the choir.
Wyolene was a former member of the Girl Scouts, Red Hat Society and the Eastern Star. She and her husband had their pilot’s licenses, and they enjoyed flying and traveling to many places together.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the “love of her life,” Harold Eugene Bivins; and seven siblings.
Survivors include her only son, Brian Bivins (Heather Whitmer) of Waycross; granddaughter, Rachelynn Bivins of Waycross; nieces and nephew, Sylvia Pope, Wyolene Day, Charlene Brown, Carolyn Pires-Jones, Rick Patterson, Rosalind Sandell, and Rhonda Brown; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 11 at First Baptist Church. Entombment followed in Greenlawn Mausoleum. The family received friends the hour prior to the service at the church.
