HICKOX – Wiley Edmond “Ned” Hendrix, 79 of Hickox, passed away Monday morning, February 6, 2022 at his residence after a brief illness.
Hendrix was born at his family homeplace in Hickox to Woodrow Wilson “Cotton” Hendrix and Lizzie Mae Highsmith Hendrix. He is also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Bill Gillis and Terry Allen; and a nephew, Stevie Hendrix.
Hendrix was a farmer and a member of Hickox Baptist Church. He was a former Mason and loved spending time with his family, farming, his cows, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Ellis Hendrix of Hickox; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian Edmond Hendrix (Dana) of Hoboken; a daughter and son-in-law, Carla Hendrix Clark (Lorin) of Hickox; special nephew, Emory Allen of Raybon; four grandchildren and their spouses, Tanner Clark (Mollie), Blake Carter (Ryan), Ross Allen (Della) all of Hickox, and Macie Middleton (Landon) of Nahunta; three great grandchildren, Parker Clark, McKenna Carter and Owen Clark; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve Hendrix (Sandra), Freddie Hendrix (Kathy) and Glenn Hendrix (Debra) all of Hickox; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lana Hendrix Lackey (Bobby) and Karen Hendrix Gillis all of Hickox; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Allen of Raybon; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, February 8 at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Giddens and Brother Bicknell Manor officiating.
Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were A.J. Hendrix, Mike Hendrix, Lee Lackey, Tanner Clark, Ryan Carter, Ross Allen and Landon Middleton.
