Mauney
BRUNSWICK – Melva Jean Wilson Mauney, 73, of Brunswick passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at her daughter’s residence after an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, her parents were George Benjamin Wilson and Lougene Justice Wilson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Clay Mauney; and 2 sons, Chuck Edward Mauney and Olin Terry Mauney.
Mrs. Mauney was a sprayer for Yonique Products and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She loved spending time with her family, going to the mountains, watching game shows, cooking and fishing.
Survivors include her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Boehm (Greg) and Sally Johnson (Johnny) all of Brunswick; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, George Wilson (Linda) of Eulonia, Willie Wilson of Brantley Co and Glynn Wilson (Debbie) of Brunswick; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Cribbs (Bruce) of Hilliard, Vila VanDeraa of Hoboken and Ruth McLeod (Wayne) of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Monday afternoon, January 16, 2023, at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Walden officiating.
Burial followed in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joshua Joyner, Kalvin Kibodeaux, Matthew LeDuc, T.J. Menden, Daniel Howe and Greg Boehm.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
