Lorenzia Franklin Pitts

Lorenzia Franklin Pitts, Sr., 89 of Trudie, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Jesup Health and Rehab following an extended illness.

Born in Laurens County, Ga.., Pitts’ parents were I.J. Columbus Pitts and Cynthia Nellie Colson Pitts. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sally Simpson Pitts; a daughter, Sandra Pitts; and several brothers and sisters.

Pitts was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacons and was a Sunday School Teacher. He loved his Church and enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling the Country.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Lorenzia Franklin Pitts, Jr. (Shellie) of Fountain, Colo.; his daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Rowell (Steve), of Trudie; six grandchildren, Amber Bayne (Jason), Doug Pitts, Matthew Rowell (Kyoo), Patrick Rowell (Aislinn), Christopher Rowell (Laura), and Tyler Rowell (Julia); eight great grandchildren and one on the way.

A funeral service was held Friday morning, January 6, 2023, at Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church.

Graveside Services were held Friday afternoon, January 6, 2023, at Chapel Park Cemetery in Brunswick.

Pallbearers were his grandsons.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
