Wayne W. Harris

WAYCROSS — Mr. Wayne W. Harris, 72, of Waycross, died Thursday afternoon at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness.

He was born in Waycross to the late George S. Harris and Lovie Wildes Harris. Mr. Harris worked for Littlefield Construction. He loved the outdoors and was an avid Nascar fan. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Harris, three sisters, Helen Rowland, Shirley Bonenfant, Faye Guinn, and one brother, Ronald Harris. 

Harris is survived by his daughter, Wendy Sheffield and her husband James of Waycross, two grandchildren, Makayla Musgrove and Ashley Musgrove, one great grandson, Trenton Lewis, and seven siblings, Kenny Harris of Waycross, Johnny Harris and his wife Carolyn of Waycross, Bennie Joe Harris of Waycross, Jerry Harris of Waycross, Martha McCowen of Waycross, Arlene Scott of Waycross, Betty Wildes and her husband Lamar of Brunswick, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

A funeral service was held Monday afternoon, January 16, 2023, in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed in High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
