Ronald Lane Jacobs

ARCADIA, Fla. — Ronald Lane Jacobs, 69 of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, at Tidewell Hospice House in Arcadia following an extended illness.

Born in Hortense, Jacobs’ parents were Charon Southwell Jacobs and Gladys Lane Jacobs. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Scott Jacobs; and a sister, Marilyn Spicer.

Jacobs graduated from Camden County High School before going on to join the military. He was a retired veteran and served in the United States Navy for 20 years. Jacobs also worked many years in Law Enforcement as a K-9 officer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching football, loved westerns and spending time with family.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Keith Jacobs (Ida Calderon) of Tampa, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Michelle Hanshaw (Tyler), of Arcadia, Fla.; four grandchildren, Shelby Nicole Hanshaw, Kendal Marie Hanshaw, Liam Mathew Hanshaw and Leland Scott Jacobs; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Charon Jacobs (Linda) of Woodbine, Mason Jacobs, of Waynesville, Clinton Spicer (Margie) and Charles Spicer all of Quitman, Ga.; sister, Joyce Jackson, of Valdosta; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held Monday afternoon, January 2, 2023, at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. William Jacobs officiating.

Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Military Honors.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
