NAHUNTA – Patricia Ann Cosby Griffin, 78 of Nahunta, passed away early Friday morning, March 24, 2023 at her daughter’s residence after an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, Ms. Griffin’s parents were Lee Cosby and Lilie Cosby. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James “J.D.” Darling Griffin; and a sister, Mary Ethel Inman.
Ms. Griffin was a homemaker and a member of Grace Community Church of God. She loved spending time with her grandkids, cooking, cake decorating, crafting, swimming dancing and listening to music.
Survivors include her four children, Mellissa Smith of Nichols, Teresa Dryden of Waycross, Donna Adams (Tim) of Nahunta and Eric Smith (Shelly) of Nahunta; seven grandchildren, Taylor Wallis, Clay Wallis (Madison), Larimey Knight, LeAnn Mercardo, Jessica Johns (Mikel Ray), Lee Adams (April) and Branton Smith; eight great grandchildren, Jessenia Mercardo, Julianna Mercardo, Emma Adams, Christopher Adams, Carli Grace Johns, Griffin Johns, Hudson Wallis and Hensley Wallis; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Monday morning, March 27, 2023 at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Florey and Rev. Cliff Adams officiating.
Burial followed in High Bluff Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lee Adams, Clay Wallis, Cliff Adams, Branton Smith, Eric Smith, Tim Adams and Mikel Ray Johns.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
