HOBOKEN — Glen Bias Prescott, Sr., 94 of Hoboken, died Monday morning, March 13, 2023 at his residence after a sudden illness.
Prescott was born in Folkston to the late Henry Owen Prescott and Polly Ettie Crews Prescott. He made Hoboken his home for many years.
Prescott served his country faithfully in the United States Army and was a hardworking man that retired from CSX as an electrician after more than 40 years. He enjoyed farming, tending to his animals, especially the mules and cows. Prescott loved his children and grandchildren and the time spent with them.
He was a member of Hoboken Masonic Lodge #740 F&AM and IBEW Local 1984.
In addition to his parents, Prescott is preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Nadine Barker Prescott; a step-daughter, Linda Corbitt; eight siblings, Nancy Moore, Arlene Brian, Jeannette Greene, Marcie White, Alvin Prescott, Owen Prescott, Kenneth Prescott and Douglas Prescott.
He is survived by his wife, Candacy Corbitt Prescott; three children, Sharon Chapman of Brunswick, Glen B. Prescott, Jr. and wife, Joyce, of Waycross, Richard Henry Prescott and wife, Peggy, of Hoboken; two step-children, John Corbitt of Pearson and Elaine Sirmans and husband, Stacy, of Tallahassee, Fla.; six grandchildren, Sheldon Nichols and wife Jamie, Patrick Nichols and wife Karen, Christopher Nichols, Jamie Yarberry and husband Jason, Ashley Cox and husband Kelly, and Katelynn Deen and husband Buddy; five step-grandchildren, Valerie Kania, Shauna Tarshis, Candace Sirmans, Stace Sirmans and wife Kim, and Berkley Sirmans and wife Karsen; 14 great grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Thursday, March 16, 2023 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
Members of the Hoboken Masonic Lodge #740 F&AM were asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.
