WAYNESVILLE — Elliott Guy Edgy, 57 of Waynesville, passed away Friday night, May 12, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, Edgy’s parents are Claude Edgy and Theresa Ellis Edgy. He is preceded by a brother, Claude Damon Edgy.
Edgy loved working, building, camping and westerns. He also lovedworking on old tractors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Edgy was a guy named “Guy” with a dog named “dog.” He was of the Baptist faith. Edgy was self-employed as a construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Peggie Lynn Bennett Edgy of Waynesville; a son, Elliott Tye Edgy (Aiden Simich) of Waynesville; a daughter and her spouse, Cypress Lane (Caleb) of Hortense, three step-children and their spouses, Lexie Thompson (Hunter) Lacie Poindexter and Landon Poindexter; eight grandchildren, Tymber Grant, Kynsleigh Lane, Faith Edgy, Layton Lane, Adalynn Edgy, Athen Taylor, Andrew Allen and Waylon Thompson; his parents, Claude and Theresa Ellis Edgy of Waynesville; three brothers and their spouses, Kevin Edgy of Waverly, Martin Edgy (Joy) of Brantley Co., and Zane Edgy (Kaitlyn) of Waverly; a sister and her spouse, Shamra Kurrasch (Chris) of Waynesville; also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and a host of friends.
A graveside service was held Monday, May 15, 2023 at at Homeward Cemetery with Rev. Tim Rowell officiating.
Pallbearers were Jamie Daniels, Marcus Moore, Coy Brooker, Claude Edgy, Hunter Johnson and Bull Messer.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
