Charles Steven “Steve” Fricks

WAYNESVILLE — Charles Steven “Steve” Fricks, 68 of Waynesville, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Atlanta, Fricks’ parents were Charles Harold Fricks and Martha McVey Fricks. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joel Fricks.

Fricks served in the United State Marine Corp and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Temple, Ga. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, hunting, and taking his grandbabies fishing.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dondra Jenkins Fricks of Waynesville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven Fricks (Haley) of Dacula, Ga., and Joseph Fricks, of Flowery Branch, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Julie McGinnis (David),of Lula, Ga.; step daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Wade (William) of Brunswick; 18 grandchildren; two great grand daughters; a great grandson, Trashmonkey; brother and sister-in-law, Darrell Fricks (Kathy) of Temple, Ga.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lynn Stacey of Temple, Ga., and Debbie Turner (Robert) of Jasper, Ga..; close friends, Rick Poss and Darrell Poss; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Copeland officiating.

Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Military Honors.

Pallbearers were Steven Fricks, Joseph Fricks, William Wade, David McGinnis, Donald McGinnis and Justin Tyndall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
