Tommy Earl Stalvey

HOBOKEN — Mr. Tommy Earl Stalvey, 77, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at his residence in Hoboken following a short illness.

Stalvey was born in Waycross to the late Hubert C. Stalvey, Sr. and Clennace Weldon Stalvey. He served in the United States Army Military Police and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Stalvey had a life-long career in law enforcement. He was employed with the Waycross Police Department and the State of Georgia Fire Marshal’s Office before retiring as a special agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Kingsland.

In addition to his parents, Stalvey was also preceded in death by a sister, Juanelle Mann; and a brother, Hubert C. Stalvey, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Stalvey of Hoboken; four children, Michael Stalvey (Amy) of Waverly, Keith Stalvey (Angela) of Brunswick, Jamie Tucker (Hank) of Hortense, and Colby Strickland (Kristen) of Blackshear; seven grandchildren, Reese Stalvey, Ethan Stalvey, Keegan Stalvey, Aydan Tucker, Kinley Tucker, Greyson Strickland, Cooper Strickland; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Stalvey of Princeton, W.Va.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed in High Bluff Cemetery.

Music Funeral Home in Waycross was in charge of the arrangements
