Stacey Jo Spears Thompson

BLACKSHEAR — Mrs. Stacey Jo Spears Thompson, 58 of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, April 9, 2023 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 28, 1964, in Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of the late Joe Rewis and Betty Faye Pippin Spears.  She grew up and lived in Jacksonville before moving to Pierce County in 2008. She was a longtime housewife, an excellent event planner, decorator, and one of the best hosts you’d ever meet.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Thompson of Blackshear, three children, Aaron Abbott of Jacksonville, Fla., Hannah Grant (husband Morris) of Hoboken, and Grant Thompson of Blackshear; two grandchildren, Kayden Grant and Easton Grant; a sister, Tracey Bone (husband Mark) of Middleburg, Fla.; and several other relatives.

A funeral service was held Thursday, April 13 in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation at glioblastomafoundation.org.

The family would like to thank GHC Hospice for the love and care provided during Stacey's sickness and this difficult time.
