Ira Lou Crowe

JESUP — Ira Lou Crowe, 83, affectionately known as “Diane,” went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Crown was born in Wayne County to the late Leonard and Claudia Strickland Grantham. She was a homemaker and provided daycare to many children in her home over the years. Mrs. Crown was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose quick wit and love for her family will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crown was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 58 years, Donald Crowe; son, Jimmy Crowe; sisters, Kathleen Grantham Holland, Sandra Durbin, and Penny Rodenberry; and brothers, William Thomas Grantham and James Earl Grantham.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Crowe and Eddie Crowe, both of Jesup; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and John Willis of Hortense; sisters, Fran Grantham of Brunswick and Annette Dismuke of Jesup; sister-in-law, Betty Jean Pace of Crab Orchard, Ky.; brother-in-law, Dean Crowe of Pontiac, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A graveside service was held Friday, March 31, 2023 in the Jesup City Cemetery with Hospice of South Georgia Chaplain Phillip Bunce officiating.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.
