WAYNESVILLE — Vance Mitchell, 58 of Waynesville, passed away suddenly Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Born in Brunswick, Mitchell’s parents were the late Gordon Albert Mitchell, Sr. and Sandra Wiggins Mitchell of Waynesville.
Mitchell retired after many years of working in Operations for Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Smith Mitchell, of Waynesville; three sons, Tristian Mitchell, William McNeel and Trinity Lee, all of Waynesville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel Nixon (Cody) of Waynesville, Amanda Lewis (Tim) of Longwood, and Carrie McNeely of Waynesville; eight grandchildren, Allyson, Makensey, Hudson, Laurean, Logan, Caylon, William and Chloe; his mother, Sandra Wiggins of Waynesville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Gordon Mitchell, Jr. (Lisa) of Waynesville, and Dennis Mitchell of Nahunta; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
