Edward Andrew Albritton

YULEE, Fla. — Mr. Edward A. Albritton, 76, of Yulee, Fla., died early Tuesday, December 13 at his residence after an extended illness.

Albritton was born in Waycross to the late Andrew Jackson Allbritton and Eula Mae Steverson Allbritton.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Living in Waycross for the majority of his life, Albritton moved to Yulee over 20 years ago. He worked as a truck driver for Joiner Transfer in Waycross, H&W Trucking Company in Cedartown, Ga., and Silver Eagle Trucking in Jacksonville, Fla.

Albritton was an avid race car and antique tractor enthusiast. More than anything, he loved his grandchildren and any time he was able to spend with them.

Along with his parents, Albritton was preceded in death by two sisters, Nell Collins and Alice Tuckerman. 

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Buchanan and her husband, Richard, of Mayo, Fla., and Wendy Drake of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Connor Buchanan, Camden Buchanan and Callie Buchanan; six siblings, Dale Allbritton of Waycross, James Allbritton of Yulee, Fla., Elaine Glass of Blackshear, Doyle Allbritton of Cave Spring, Ga., Jo Free of Rome, Ga., Billie Chambers and her husband, Rodney, of Cartersville, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

A funeral service was held Friday morning, December 16, 2022, in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed in High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
