HOBOKEN — Jewell Loretta Ashurst Crawford, 78 of Hoboken, died Thursday morning, December 15, 2022, at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta after an extended illness.
Mrs. Crawford was born in Douglas to the late Percy N. Ashurst and Jewell Holton Ashurst. She made Hoboken her home for most of her life. Mrs. Crawford was an exceptional homemaker and a member of Hoboken Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert “Bobby” Crawford; a granddaughter, Kara Baker; and a great-grandson, Mason West.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by three sons, Ricky Crawford and wife Pam of Waycross, Bobby Crawford of Hoboken, and Stephen Crawford and wife Tina of Waycross; three daughters, Angela Stanfield and husband Wesley of Jesup, Bobbie Jean Hogan of Fitzgerald, Mary Ann Britt of Albany; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three siblings, Buddy Ashurst and wife Annette of Fayetteville, Ga., Karen Crosby and husband Virgil of Navarre, Fla., and Maxie Mossor and husband Greg of Florala, Ala.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Saturday morning, December 17, 2022, in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Franklin Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery in Douglas.
The staff of Bayview Nursing Home served as honorary pallbearers.
