FOLKSTON – Myra Janet Johns Pearce, 85, of Folkston passed away Tuesday evening, November 22, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.
Born in Folkston, Mrs. Pearce’s parents were Johnny James “J.J.” Johns and Sara Ann Crews Johns. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Nelson Pearce; three brothers, J.E. Johns, Arnold Johns and Infant Johns; and seven sisters, Pauline Johns, Kathleen Kahlich, Christine Cowart, Hazel Brannen and Betty Ruth Baker, Inez Pike and Mary Jean Austin.
Mrs. Pearce was a secretary at Union Camp in Savannah for 35 years and a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and her church family, fishing, gardening, and loved life on the farm.
Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Manda Lee Johns, Willie Maude Johns both of Folkston, and LaRue Richards of Youngsville, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Kahlich of Savannah; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.
Burial followrf in Riverside Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
