NAHUNTA — Andrew Niece, Jr., 65 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Louisville, Ken., Niece’s parents were Andrew Niece, Sr. and Alice Marie Dotson Niece. He was also preceded in death by two granddaughters, Ally Marie Waters and Briana Nicole Rooks; and two sisters, Beulah Mae Niece and Nannie Michelle Gibson Niece.
Niece served in the United States National Guard and was a member of Nahunta United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working on cars, horses, drag racing, flying remote planes, electric bikes, camping and loved spending time with his family. Niece worked many years as a self-employed carpenter and was the owner of Nahunta Hardware for 16 years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Niece of Nahunta; five sons and a daughter-in-law, Travis Lee Niece of Nahunta, Brent Louis Niece of Statesboro, Tim Paul Kramer of Nahunta, Nathan Andrew Kramer (Astrid) of Santa Ana, Cal., and Nickolas Gary Kramer, also of Santa Ana, Cal; two daughters, Brandy Jo Niece of Salem, Ind., and Buddie Lynn Niece of Waycross; six grandchildren, Brendan Andrew Waters (Ashley), Joshua Ian Waters (Ashlyn Brooker) all of Nahunta, Robert “Rod” Batten, III of Waycross, Samuel Kramer and Oliver Kramer of California, Emily Rowell of Nahunta, and Ashley Rowell Lane of Hortense; 11 great grandchildren; nine siblings and their spouses, Ted Niece (Karen) of Nahunta, Trisia Derith of Salem, Ind., Charlene Martin (Timmy) of Pekin, Ind., Carl Niece (Angie) of Nahunta, Johnny Niece (Lynn) of Nahunta, Alice Marie Niece of Lebanon, Ken., Darlene Niece of Noblesville, Ind., James Niece (Karen) of Hardinsburg, Ind., and Bennie Niece (Jennifer) of Salem, Ind.; also several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service was held Thursday afternoon, October 27, 2022, at Nahunta United Methodist Church with Bro. David Farrier and Rev. Ashton Ham officiating.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
