WAYNESVILLE – Edward “Eddie” Aaron Hunter, Sr., 77, of Waynesville passed away Thursday morning, November 17, 2022, at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Folkston, his parents were Ernest Alfonso Hunter and Daisy Elizabeth Gibson Hunter. He is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Beth Roberson and Alicia Moore.
Hunter was a truck driver for many years and a member of Lulaton Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, working, tinkering, and doing mechanic work.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Hunter of Waynesville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest Hunter (Brooklyn) and Aaron Hunter (Crystal) all of Waynesville; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Lori Hunter of St. Mary’s and Lisa Henderson (Jeff) of Waynesville; Step son – Matthew Dixon of Waynesville; 13 grandchildren, Daniel Norfleet, Ashley Hickman, Jesse Henderson, Kaylie Hunter, Caleb Dixon, Abbie Hiott, Trace Hunter, Jaden Henderson, Evan Dixon, Reese Dixon, Ernie Hunter, Ben Hunter and Daisy Hunter; 2 great grandchildren, Kinley Hickman and Raylee Henderson; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond Earl Robinson (Irene) of Waynesville and Donald Robinson (Brenda) of Warner Robins; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, November 19, 2022, at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Beal officiating.
Burial followed in Gibson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Caleb Dixon, Jesse Henderson, Trace Hunter, Daniel Norfleet, Jeff Henderson, and Leroy Boss.
Honorary pallbearers were Harry Murphy, Gene Crews, Chris Gallops, Joe Gibson, Rodney Evener, Tom Gibson and Phil Sutton.
