WAYNESVILLE – Rita Ann Thomas Daniels, 58 of Waynesville, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 8, 2022 at Candler Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, Mrs. Daniels’ parents were Edward Lamar “Buddy” Thomas and Patricia Ann Lorie Hope. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Joey Thomas; and a sister, Evelyn Crosby.
Mrs. Daniels was a homemaker and a member of Bay Harbor Brantley Church of God. She loved talking on her phone, watching TV and tending to her children. Mrs. Daniels had a big heart and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Daniels of Waynesville; six sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Daniels of Brunswick, Adam Daniels (Nicki) of Hortense, Josh Daniels (Jessica) of Hortense, Timothy Daniels (Kaitlyn) of Jacksonville, N.C., Tyler Daniels of Blackshear and Jaylen Daniels (Erin) of Nahunta; a daughter, Ida Daniels of Waynesville; 18 grandchildren, Dawson Daniels (Kasi), Emily Daniels, Cassidy Bridges, Isaac Daniels, Addi Daniels, Reagan Daniels, Wyatt Daniels, Tymber Daniels, Kaiden Daniels, Hayden Daniels, Dalton Daniels, Brinson Daniels, Saylah Daniels, Kyliah Ann Daniels, Kyson Daniels, Brian O’Neal, Keria Davis and Samantha O’Neal; a great-grandchild, Amelia Daniels; two brothers, James Thomas of Savannah and Roy Merrell of Brunswick; six sisters, Marie Brandon of Florida, Virginia Hall of Brunswick, Linda Harris of Brunswick, Brenda Lowman of Florida, Christine Moody of Brunswick and Nancy McGee of Waynesville; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, September 14, 2022) from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Thursday morning, September 15, 2022 at 11 a.m., at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Gill officiating.
Burial will follow in Daniels Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Cady, Chris Scott, Chad Head, Chris Singletary, Robert Daniels and Jamie Daniels.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
