HOBOKEN — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McClain Beverley, 93 of Hoboken, died Tuesday morning, September 6 at Harborview Satilla after an extended illness.
Mrs. Beverly was born in Brantley County to the late John Riley McClain and Mary Etta Dowling McClain. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was currently a member of Jacksonville United Church of God.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, William Levy “Buddy” Beverley, Jr.; one granddaughter, Heather Mazzella; and five siblings, Walter McClain, Margaret McClain, Robert McClain, Mattie Randall and Roy McClain.
She is survived by three children, Deborah McCaulley of Jacksonville, Fla., William L. Beverley III and his wife, Beverly, of Brunswick, and Ronnie Beverley and his wife, Zettie, of Hoboken; five grandchildren, Jason Beverley and his wife, Felecia, Staci B. Lundy and her husband, Jeff, Devon McCaulley, Kenny Beverley and J.T. Beverley; eight great-grandchildren, Jaxson Lundy, Gunnar Lundy, Jasmine Beverley, Savannah Beverley, Justin Beverley, Landon Beverley, Amy Mazzella, and Noah Anderson; one brother, Truman McClain and his wife, Donna, of Blackshear; two sisters, Geneva Highsmith of Satsuma, Fla., and Barbara Teachey of Hoboken; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service was held Friday, September 9 in High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
