Brantley County’s Lady Herons stretched their winning streak to a season-high five games with a perfect 3-0 week beating Charlton County, Pierce County and Tattnall County.
The Lady Herons (10-9 overall, 4-2 region) opened the week with a come-from-behind 8-2 win in eight innings Monday, September 12, in Folkston.
BCHS followed a day later rallying to beat visiting Pierce County (8-8, 2-6) 5-4, winning in the bottom of the seventh. The victory clinched a three-game series win. The Lady Herons notched a 4-2 win August 23 in Blackshear.
Brantley County wrapped up the week winning 7-3 in Reidsville against Tattnall County (3-8, 3-4), handing the Lady Warriors a third straight loss.
Brantley County hosted Toombs County Tuesday, September 20, and travels Thursday, September 22 to Vidalia.

FOLKSTON — Brantley County scored twice in the sixth inning to tie the game at 2-all and exploded for six runs in the eighth to beat the Indian Maidens.
Jada Scott’s (1-for-4) triple started the sixth with the Lady Herons’ first hit of the game. Pinch-hitter Alyssa Wilson (1-for-1) followed with a run-scoring single to pull Brantley County to within 2-1.
After a Brooklyn Wildes’ (1-for-3) sacrifice bunt, Madelyn Saunders’ ensuing groundout moved Wilson around to third. Wilson scored the game-tying run on a passed ball.
Mallory Chesser (1-for-4) opened the eighth with a first-pitch single. Chesser moved into scoring position on defensive indifference and advanced to third on Kelsie Bishop’s (1-for-2) first-pitch single. Wildes’ ensuing first-pitch single scored Chesser with the go-ahead run.
After a walk to Saunders loaded the bases, Maggie Crews (1-for-4) swatted a first-pitch, grandslam homer to left giving the Lady Herons a 7-2 lead.
Ella Raulerson reached on a two-base error ahead of a walk to Kira Altman. Millie Chesser’s (1-for-4) ensuing single to left plated Raulerson with the final run.
Charlton County scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings on a sacrifice fly and a one-out double against Altman (7 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 K, 0 BB).

CANEY BAY — Bishop’s one-out, run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh rallied Brantley County past visitinng PCHS.
The Lady Herons trailed 4-3 entering the bottom of the seventh after Pierce County took advantage of two errors to score a run breaking a 3-all tie.
Kadence Godwin reached on a one-out error for the Lady Bears, stole second and moved to third on a single by Rachel Cason (2-for-4). Kylie Allen’s (2-for-4) ensuing grounder was misplayed allowing Godwin to score for the lead.
Altman (1-for-3) opened the home half of the seventh with an infield hit. A one-out, two-base error on a ball hit by Wilson put the game-tying run on third and the winning run at second.
Scott (1-for-3) lined a run-single to center plating Altman two pitches later to even the score at 4-apiece to chase Lauren Edgar (6.1 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 6 K, o BB) from the mound. Bishop (1-for-2) greeted Godwin with a bloop infield hit on a 1-2 pitch scoring Wilson with the winning run.
The Lady Bears scored three times in their initial at bat against Altman (7 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 3 K, 2 BB, 2 HBP). Godwin was hit by the first pitch of the game ahead of Cason’s single to left. Allen was safe on a fielder’s choice sacrifice bunt loading the bases.
LizAnn Hughes (1-for-3) followed with a single off an 0-2 pitch scoring Godwin. Cason was gunned down at the plate on Millie Chesser’s throw from centerfield to Bishop.
After Rebecca Deloach was hit two pitches later to re-load the bases, Jenny Braddy’s two-out, infield grounder was thrown away for a two-base error allowing Allen and Hughes to score for a 3-0 lead.
Brantley County pulled even in the third inning. Scott reached on a leadoff error and was sacrificed to second by Bishop. Wildes (1-for-3) followed with a first-pitch single to center with Scott scoring the first run when the ball was misplayed. Saunders (1-for-3) hammered a 1-2 pitch over the fence in left-center for a two-run homer to tie the score at 3-all.

REIDSVILLE — The Lady Herons opened up a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning en route to turning back Tattnall County.
Brantley County got a pair of triples in the first inning to grab a 1-0 lead. Saunders (3-for-3) raced around the bases with a one-out triple to center. Raulerson (1-for-4) stroked a two-out, run-scoring triple to right.
Saunders led off the third inning with her second triple of the game and scored on a groundout by Crews (1-for-3) for a 2-0 advantage.
BCHS plated three runs in the fourth upping the lead to 5-0. Millie Chesser (2-for-4) led off the inning with a double and scored when Mallory Chesser’s fly ball to left was misplayed into a two-base error.
Wildes’ (1-for-3) one-out single followed a fielder’s choice play at third scoring Scott, who had reached on an error. Saunders followed with a four-pitch walk loading the bases ahead of Crews being hit by an 0-1 pitch forcing home the final run of the inning.
Tattnall County got a run back in the bottom of the frame against Altman (7 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 K, 1 BB, 1 HBP) on a two-out error.
The Lady Herons added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to build a 7-1 lead. Wildes drew a two-out walk in the sixth, advanced to second on an error, and scored on a single by Saunders.
Millie Chesser’s two-out single in the seventh drove home Crews, who led off the inning with a single and moved around to third on consecutive groundouts.
The third of three consecutive two-out singles in the bottom of the seventh plated two runs for the Lady Warriors.
