WAYCROSS — Pauline Macie Griffin Palmer, 91, of Waycross, died Monday evening, August 29, 2022, at Harborview Satilla Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Palmer was born in Hoboken to the late Wilbur Griffin and Lois Raulerson Griffin Jacobs, and made Waycross her home for most of her life. She retired from the State of Georgia where she worked at the local RYDC for many years. She loved baking and shopping, and attended Waycross Primitive Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Anthony Palmer, and two brothers, Julian Griffin and Homer Griffin.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by two daughters, Paula Thrift and her husband, Charles, of Waycross, and Pamela Boatright and her husband, Robert, of Eatonton, Ga.; three grandchildren, Drew Christopher, Valerie Thrift, Aaron Thrift (Brooke Burney) all of Waycross; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 1, at High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends an hour before the service at the cemetery.
