HICKOX – Kathleen Davis Johns, 93 of Hickox, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 14, 2022 at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Hickox, Mrs. Johns parents were Ezekiel W. Davis and Virginia Wainwright Davis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Winton Johns; a daughter, Shirley Morris; two grandsons, Devin Johns and Eric Johns; and eight siblings, Dorothy Jones, Sarah Nazworthy, Dean Hodges, Clyde Hodges, Queenie Harvey, Rita Jowers, Ellenor Sikes and Cecil Hodges.
Mrs. Johns was a homemaker and a member of Hickox Baptist Church. She loved baking and tending to her flowers.
Survivors include her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy Johns (Sherry) and Gerald Johns all of Nahunta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail Jacobs (J.L.) and Brenda Johnson (Clyde) all of Nahunta; a grandson and his spouse, Will Johns (Tabytha) of Nahunta; four great-grandchildren, Jacey Johns, Erica Johns, Ashton Johns and Jackson Johns; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Stanley Davis (Patty) of Illinois and Clinton Davis of Nahunta; five sisters, Margie Crews of Folkston, Joyce Gamble of Folkston, Maxine Morgan of Nahunta, Stella Wilson of Nahunta and Margie McCullough; and also several nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday morning, September 17, 2022 at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tim King and Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.
Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Will Johns, Joey Popham, Gary Wainright, Byron Knowles, Jessie Wainright and Anthony Hodges.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
