Charles ‘Melvin’ Crews

HOBOKEN – Charles “Melvin” Crews, 50, of Hoboken passed away Wednesday evening, October 12, 2022, at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Blackshear, his parents are Kenneth Lester and Charlotte Ann Newman Crews of Hoboken. He is preceded in death by his biological father, Robert Crews; his grandparents, Rachel Newman and Emory Newman; and a brother-in-law, Michael Tolman.

Crews was a painter for CMC Painting and attended Grace Community Church of God. He loved spending time with his family, painting, hunting, fishing and cooking.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Dills Crews of Hoboken; 2 sons, Austin Losey of FL and Adam Losey of Hoboken; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Kirsten Price (Paul) of Stewart, FL and Hope Crews of Hoboken; 2 grandchildren, Kayson Jones and Layne Price; his parents, Kenneth Lester and Charlotte Ann Newman Crews of Hoboken; a brother, Scott Crews of Hoboken; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Beth Lee (Tony) of Hoboken and Diane King of Augusta; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the residence of Lisa Crews in Hoboken.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
