NAHUNTA – A Brantley County man was injured and transported to Memorial Satilla Health Waycross following a wreck Friday on North Main Street.
Michael Cliff Adams was driving a 2014 Nissan Versa northbound on North Main Street October 7 trailing a City of Nahunta work truck driven by city employee Johnny Roy Herrin, according to the report of Georgia State Patrol Trooper Patrick Orr.
Herrin was driving a 2011 GMC Sierra C-1500 pickup truck. He stopped for southbound traffic to make a left turn onto Roosevelt Street.
Adams told lawmen he looked away from the road for a second when his car struck the rear of the pickup truck. He was injured in the crash and required transport for treatment at the Waycross emergency room.
A passenger in the city truck, Christopher Thomas, escaped without injury, as did Herrin. Herrin drove the pickup truck onto Roosevelt Street.
Trooper Patrick Orr investigated the 1:48 p.m. Brantley County deputies and Nahunta Police Department officers worked to maintain traffic control while the crash was under investigation.
