Brantley County enters the last week of the regular season sitting in the second spot in the Region 3-AA standings with a state playoff berth clinched.
The Lady Herons (15-11 overall, 8-4 region) posted a 4-1 road win Monday, October 3 over Brunswick, a 2-1 home win Tuesday, October 4 over region foe Tattnall County and wrapped the three-game schedule with a 7-1 victory Thursday, October 6 in Lyons. BCHS has won three straight and 10 of its last 12 games.
Brantley County’s win over the Lady Warriors completed a three-game sweep of the season series. The Lady Herons won 7-3 September 15 in Reidsville and 14-5 four days later at home.
The win over the Lady Bulldogs gave Brantley County the season series after the two teams split the first two matchups. The Lady Herons won 5-3 August 30 in Lyons and lost 4-1 at home September 20.
No information was provided by the coaching staff of the games against Brunswick nor Toombs County.

CANEY BAY — Kira Altman helped her own cause driving in what proved to be the winning run with a two-out RBI single in the first inning giving the Lady Herons a one-run advantage.
Tattnall County struck for a run in the first against Altman (7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 K, 3 BB) with a sacrifice fly.
Brantley County responded in the bottom of the inning stringing together four consecutive one-out hits with the last two producing runs for a 2-1 advantage.
Madelyn Saunders (1-for-3) got the rally started with a single to center. Maggie Crews (1-for-2) following with a single to left. Ella Raulerson’s (1-for-2) first-pitch single up the middle scored Saunders to even the score. Altman (1-for-3) slapped a 1-2 pitch to left scoring Crews with the final run of the game.
Altman escaped a bases loaded jam in the sixth and left the tying run on second in the seventh.
