Three-day Span Wreck

Deputies with the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office, Nahunta Police Department and Hoboken Police Department were busy attending to wrecks over a three-day span.

The BSCO responded Wednesday, September 28 to Hoboken to the scene of a 2016 Volvo semi bumping into a 2011 Chevy Silverado along Highway 82. There were no injuries in the 4:08 p.m. accident, stated Alicia Carter, GSP Waycross Post secretary.

According to the report of Georgia State Patrol Trooper Chris Rigby, the semi, driven by Horace Anthony Parker, 70, bumped the Chevy Silverado driven by James Daniel Johnson, 45. Terry Johnson and Christopher Johnson were passengers in the Johnson vehicle.

An unconfirmed accident reportedly happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Atkinson community. Neither the sheriff’s office nor the GSP Waycross office had any reports.

Two people were injured Friday, September 30 in a three-vehicle crash in Hickox, the GSP reported.

Raymond Bryce Hendrix, 23, was transported by Brantley County EMS ambulance to Southeast Georgia Medical Center in Brunswick for treatment of his injuries in the 5:15 p.m. crash, said Carter.

Adam Winton Wilson, age unavailable, was taken by ambulance to Memorial Satilla Health Waycross for treatment of injuries he suffered.

Hendrix, driving a 2018 Ford Transit 250, was stopped at the stop sign on Caney Bay Road facing east. Carter said Hendrix entered the intersection in the path of Wilson, who was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Impala north on U.S. 301.

Hendrix’s vehicle rotated clockwise and struck the front of a third vehicle, a 2015 Ford Escape driven by Rhonda Denise Corbitt, which had stopped at the stop sign on Riverside Road facing west. The Hendrix vehicle continue to rotate and struck a stop sign before coming to a final stop.

The Wilson car came to final reside facing west in the intersection. The Corbitt vehicle came to final race facing west at the point of impact, said Carter.

Trooper Peter Lukas was in charge of the accident investigation.

Brantley County Sheriff's Department personnel showed a heavy presence at the scene of the crash, as well as the local fire departments and Brantley County EMTs.

The report did not have any further information on the severity of the injuries, which included a 13-year-old passenger with minor injuries.
