William Tavis Popham, 40, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 3, 2024.
Born in Blackshear October 21, 1983, he lived in Pierce County most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and attended Wards Chapel Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling, history, music and superhero movies. He never met a stranger and would do anything he could for others.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Joan Graham and his paternal grandparents, Audrey and Jewell Popham.
Survivors include his parents, Reggie and Pam Graham Popham, Blackshear; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Loretta Jones, Hoboken and Chase and Simone Popham, Blackshear; his maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Graham, Baxley; his aunts, Debbie McCullars, Blackshear, Terri (Teddy) Hobbs, Hilliard, FL, Karen (Johnny) Thrift, Waycross, Deborah (Gary) Johnson, Folkston, Linda Bryant, St. Marys and Julie Tyler, Valdosta; nieces and nephews, Bria (Brandon) Cox, Celicia Popham and Rand Popham; special friends, Maura Hilton and Jennifer Rowell.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Feb. 10, at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
