David Michael Watson

David Michael Watson, 68, of Blackshear, passed away late Friday evening, January 5, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Born in Blackshear March 3, 1955, he lived in Arkansas for a few years before returning to Pierce County in 1985.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked as a truck driver for United Egg prior to becoming their maintenance supervisor, which he did until his retirement in 2021. He loved to watch crime shows as well as listen to podcasts about the same subject. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing but had been an avid collector of coins, guns and knives most of his life. He also loved all things Snoopy related and a good, cold Mountain Dew. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was the son of the late Frank Watson and Evelyn Luke Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Anna Watson and a sister, Melba Aldridge.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Barbara Fember Watson, Blackshear; his son, Michael (Michele) Watson, Blackshear; four daughters, Sarah (Steven) Wimberly, Blackshear, Brandy Beckham, Seattle, WA, Sandy Beckham, Blackshear and Dixie Allemani, Pensacola, FL; his sister, Lawanna Arowood, Blackshear; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his beloved pet dog, Lucy Bell and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
