Ernie Ellawease Medders, 94, formerly of Alma, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation in Coffee County, after an extended illness.
She was daughter of the late Henry Marvin Jordan and Ruby Isabelle Henderson Jordan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton Medders; two sisters, Winifred Williams and Willene Turner and a brother, Edward Jordan.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Survivors include her daughter, LaGena Peacock and husband Ricky, Douglas; three grandchildren, Blake Spivey (Sabrina), Leah Lee (Chris) and Shana Harper (Clay) and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at the Douglas Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 200 Chester Avenue, Douglas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, from the Douglas Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Interment will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Pierce County.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Porter, John Keanon, Jonathan Lomax, Michael Jackson, Ray Fussell and Ricky Peacock.
Honorary pallbearers will be staff, nurses and caregivers of Vista Park Nursing Home.
