Jesse Malbert “Mack” King Jr., 68, of Waycross, passed away Monday morning, January 8, 2024, at his residence.
Born April 14, 1955, in Blackshear, he was a son of the late Jesse Malbert King Sr. and Mildred Margarite Griner. He had moved to New York as a young child and attended Forest Hills High School. He lived in Maspetch, New York before moving to Brantley County in 2005. He was the owner of the Mobile Station in Valley String, New York for many years.
He was an avid Elvis fan, enjoyed fishing and loved people.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Sanders Davis and a sister-in-law, Peggy Griffin Sanders.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica King of New York; brother, James A. “Jimmy” Sanders, Brantley County; special friends, Tammy Griffin and Terry Griffin, both of Blackshear; special cousin, Laura Owens (husband Allen), Blackshear; special friends, Sammy and Aida Marrero, Breinigsville, PA; his dog, Elvis and several other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
A private burial will take place on Monday in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
