Annie Lou Marshall

Annie Lou Marshall passed away Friday, January 5, 2024.

She was born October 13, 1939, in Blackshear to the late Henry Reid and Alice Brown Reid.  She was one of four siblings. Her sister, Carrie Smiley preceded her in death.

She attended Lee Street High School where she graduated May 28, 1958. While attending Lee Street High, she played basketball and helped win two state championships.

In 1968, she met her husband, Jerome Marshall, who preceded her in death. They were blessed with two daughters.  In 1969, she and her husband decided to leave Blackshear and moved to Miami, FL where she worked in the environmental services, hospitality and later worked at Kmart for a short period.

She loved watching basketball, football, playing cards, shopping, cooking and cherished spending time with family.  Most importantly, she loved going to the Kingdom Hall for meetings and her witness work.  She has been a devoted Jehovah Witness for 52 years and was baptized May 30, 1971.

Left her to cherish fond memories are her lovely daughters, Pamela Marshall and Teresa Marshall; grandchildren, Marsalis Lively, Shasha Marshall, Jarvaughn Marshall, Vaushaun Cole, Arjaesha Cole, Jeremy Davis, Jair Cole, Megan Davis and Mya Davis; great-grandchildren, Autumn Lively, Jean Rosambert, Angeliyah Marshall, Carter Rosambert, Jah’Ryan Marshall, and Morris Lively; a brother, William “Bill” Reid (Minnie); a sister, Mae Alice Edmond; nieces, Patricia Joshua (Leo), Valerie Ward, Belinda Roberson, Forrest Reid and Stephanie Smiley Johnson (Bill); nephews, Eugene Cornelius Edmond, Lonnie Moody (Tangela), Harry Lee Edmond Jr., Charlie Smiley Jr. and Shedrick Garner; nine great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 20, from the Paradise Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 14545 Carver Drive, Miami, FL.
